The Peak District, with it’s white and dark peaks has so many local quiet footpaths:-
The Goyt Way, Gritstone Trail, High Peak Trail, Tissington Trail, Middlewood Way,Limestone Way, Midshires Way, Pennine Bridleway,Cown Edge Way, Transpennine Bridleway, Lyme Park, Chatsworth Park, Castleton, Blue John Mines, Ladybower and Derwent Reservoir, Peak District National Park,Kinder Scout, Spa town of Buxton and Vale of Edale.

Bower Cottage is perfectly placed for accesssing the many routes of the peaks.
